This old-fashioned evening of warmth and spirit is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season. Santa Claus arrives in a fire truck, then the young and old are treated to free SELFIE with St. Nick himself. SAN ANSELMO ARTS COMMISSION ANNUAL SILENT ART AUCTION FUNDRAISER

Fabulous, fun, and anything but silent, this auction promises an evening of amazing music, food, wine, and art by Marin artists. Bid on items from Marin businesses too. Proceeds fund the volunteer-run San Anselmo Arts Commission, which supports community art, provides free summer concerts, and funds children and teen art programs.

MARIN VALENTINE BALL

This annual black-tie affair benefits nonprofit groups that provide services to low-income families, children, and seniors: Whistlestop (senior transportation and services); Sunny Hills Services (teen and youth programs); the Godmothers of Timothy Murphy School at St. Vincent's School for Boys (helping disadvantaged boys with education and life skills); and the North Bay Children's Center (a subsidized daycare center).

Join Insalata's chef-owner, Heidi Krahling, for the Annual St. Joseph's Table in honor of the feast day of San Giuseppe, a culinary and historical tradition. In the spirit of St. Joseph, all proceeds are donated to the St. Anselm's Adopt a Family program ww.adoptafamily.org.

This is one of the county's major annual cultural events. View sample works of over 300 artists at the Open Studios Gallery Exhibition, select the artists you want to visit and then use the Open Studios Guide to map your tour. Visit, view and purchase work directly from artists. Artists often offer affordable rates, demonstrations, refreshments, or a chance to chat about the creative process.

Voted "Best Local Festival" by the North Bay Bohemian and "Best Town-Wide Festival" by the Pacific Sun, San Anselmo's premier event features 200 juried artists from across the United States, gourmet-food booths, live entertainment by top Bay Area musicians, and a large family area with rides and arts-and-crafts activities.  2016 will feature a PET FASHION show daily.

Professional Marin musicians play a variety of live music-blues, R & B, funk, rock and roll, jazz-at this popular summer music festival by the creek. The free concert series is held on six consecutive Sundays in July and August. Sponsored by a grant from the Marin Arts Council Fund for Artists, the events support artists in our community and are sure to be great summer afternoon events for music lovers of all ages.

The annual Country Fair Day is a true old-fashioned family affair with entertainment for all ages: live music, a community parade, food and beverages, and other activities. First come for a pancake breakfast at the fire station served by our very own Ross Valley Fire Department. Then listen to live musical acts from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by the parade along San Anselmo Avenue at 2 p.m. with local school children, residents, town dignitaries and businesses participating.
